Special Education Art Teacher, The ACHIEVE Program • Osseo, MN

  • Special Education Art Teacher, Case manager and Evaluation Team member at a Federal Setting 4 Program for students with disabilities

2021

Collaboration with visiting artist Katrina Knutson on the creation of 3 student produced paintings displayed in the hallways at North Education, New Hope, MN.  

  • Murals were reflections on student experiences during the pandemic and social injustice.

2014

Collaboration with artists Nate and Erin Moren in which students at the ACHIEVE Program created functional art that also served sensory needs for the students.


2012

Collaboration with Deidrich Weiss on the creation of spoken word music with the students at the ACHIEVE Program. 

2010

Collaboration with JD Steele and Philip Blackburn on the creation of visual and musical art for the Flint Hills International Children’s Festival, St. Paul, MN.  

  • ACHIEVE students collaborated with youth from the Shanigilia orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya as well as personally met youth from this orphanage at the Festival.

Collaboration with visiting artist Sara Hansen on a student made cast aluminum sculpture

    Collaboration with visiting ceramic artist Anne Krocek on a student created ceramic sculpture

    Sculpture Studio Manager and Teacher, Minnetonka Center for the Arts • Wayzata, MN

    • Manager of a sculpture department that encompasses bronze casting, welding, and stone carving as its three main disciplines.  Teacher of adult and teen sculpture and Summer Arts Camp kids courses. 

    2005

    Artist-in-Residence, The Blake Schools • Minneapolis, MN Region

    • Artist-in-residence for all three Blake Schools campuses.  Students in grades 2-12 participated in a Peace Pole Project in which their cast bronze art became part of an outdoor sculpture at the Blake Middle School campus.

                    College Board Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts Honorable Mention.  

                    • Award went towards the continuation of the Visiting Artist Program and Vocational Arts Development at the ACHIEVE Program, Osseo, MN.

                    2004 

                    Bush Foundation Faculty Development Grant awarded through the College of Visual Arts, St. Paul, MN.  In October of 2004 attended the International Sculpture Center’s Fall Symposium in New Orleans, LA.


                      2002

                      Albert K. Murray Fine Arts Grant, Madison, WI

                      2001

                      University of Wisconsin-Madison Kemper Knapp Foundation grant for the project “Students For Students:  A Celebration in the Visual Arts”.  

                      • Directed a chalk mural festival and art symposium grant that involved 13 Madison, WI area high schools and approximately 70 high school students.
